Chinese company Hongqi is planning to enter the Russian market with its new models, which will include a sedan, crossovers, and a minivan. The company aims to sell all models that it releases in China. The compact crossover HS3 will be launched at the end of June, followed by the debut of the large sedan L1 next year. The L1 will be similar in length to the long version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The sedan will be available in both standard and extended versions. Hongqi also plans to introduce the HQ9 minivan to the market, which will be available in a hybrid version, as well as the large crossover HS7. According to the executive director of Hongqi Rus, Ivan Saveliev, the HS7 model will be adapted for the Russian market, and the H5 and H9 sedans may receive all-wheel drive versions. The company also plans to introduce the mid-size crossover HS5 with updated design and improved equipment to the Russian market this year. The car is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine producing 360 horsepower. A bulletproof version of the car was also presented at the forum, which weighs about 1 ton more than the standard SUV. Hongqi's entrance to the Russian market signifies its ambitions to compete with luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz.
